Everyday Mindfulness is a project open to everyone!

Hello All,

We are starting to build a modest community here in the forum, and that's just great!

My aim for Everyday Mindfulness is bigger than that. Mindfulness is a massively powerful tool that can help every single human being out there, whatever their situation. Mindfulness has made such a massive difference to my life, that I just want to share it with others. I want Everyday Mindfulness to be an organisation that simply promotes mindfulness as a way of bringing peace to people's lives.

I don't want this thing to be just me. People are stronger together than they are apart. Therefore, the Everyday Mindfulness project is open to anyone that wants to join. Bring whatever skills you have to the party.

I am going to carry on improving the site, also developing the Twitter account; it seems to be growing at a very rapid rate, so I must be doing something right. But there are a million different ways that we can promote mindfulness, so there is room for everyone. Pretty soon the forum will be updated and made prettier, also I want to make this into a charity, although I have no idea how easy that is to. It doesn't matter, this is a lifetime's work for me. If you wanna join me just yell!

Gareth

PS I'm really not precious about the name; it's just the best thing that I could think of so far.

Hi Gareth
I am happy to do what I can to help.
I have already written a page on my own blog and am thinking about putting together a piece on Mindfulness for another blog I contribute too.

If I can make it work I have suggested setting up a group on the Insight Timer app for those who would like to practice mindful meditation virtually together. I think we could promote the thread Steve and I are contributing too about working through the How To Train a Wild Elephant book week by week and encourage others to join us perhaps? http://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Train-Wild- ... 539&sr=1-1

I am a UK a national with my heart firmly set in a core of secular mindfulness practice, and I see myself practicing (and hopefully teaching at some point) various mindful arts for the rest of my life (it's already been more than 10 years).

I've already outlined on this forum the various classical Chinese mindful arts I am learning, and yet I have other skills - digital music production, video, art, graphic design.

I already spend a lot of time working on my blog promoting and supporting mindfulness practice for free, and I'd be happier to do it with others.

I'm intending to return to the UK in around a year and a half - probably to the Bristol area.

Gareth and I had a very productive chat over the weekend.
I am hoping to have the time I need tomorrow to go through my notes, start putting ideas and getting your feedback and suggestions.
We both feel there is plenty of scope for us to continue to build this fabulous community :)
