Letting Go vs Giving Up!?

A while ago, I was reading a blog post about letting go.
One of the readers asked a very beautiful question "What is the difference between letting go and giving up?"
The answer immediately became apparent to me as of magic despite not having put any previous amount of thought into it.
I would love to find out your opinion on this and have a discussion about it.

For me, 'giving up' expresses a sense of hopelessness. It's what one does when there are no other options left. Doesn't have to be a bad thing though. It can lead to surrender, which is an absolute acceptance of what is.
'Letting things go or better yet, be', to me, expresses providing a space (in awareness) in which things can express themselves without interference.

That's a very interesting point of view Peter.
Thank you for sharing this with us!

To me, 'letting go' implies an acceptance of the moment, just as it is.
Whatever is happening to us right now, that is what happening. That moment has already arrived. No matter how much we yearn to wish it away, it's never going to happen.
That's not to say we cannot make changes in our lives. It simply means that, if we are not accepting the moment as it is, letting go to it, we are fighting with the universe. That's a fight we will never win.
Best wishes,
Jon

Yup!
We can fully accept the moment while still making efforts to change our future for the better.
Thank you Jon!
