I am an atheist, and I have been one for as long as I can remember, although my parents are Christian. Already in elementary school I was furious about having "completely unbelievable fairy-tales taught to me as if they where facts"

If asked about mindfulness and spirituality I come to think about Richard Feynman, as in this comment about a flower.

That said, I have been scratching very lightly at Buddhism, since I started my mindfulness. And while I will never become a Buddhist in any real sense, I think it might be a good thing for mindfulness to remember its roots.
Stands at the sea, wonders at wondering: I a universe of atoms, an atom in the universe.

I am a deist. I believe in god but I am not ready to accept the facts about super natural power. But I am not religious. I have faith in all religions such as Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism etc.

Atheist, always have been, no reason to change. Though my view on religion in general amounts to, "Whatever gets you through the day". :)
