The things it lists are not statements or beliefs that I've ever come across in a mindfulness or meditation context. I have had more experience of that kind of thing in a yoga type context, breathing out negativity and breathing in joy etc. But that's more of a visualisation, I wouldn't say that was mindfulness.

This seems like a bit of a straw man to me. I'm not sure anyone says these things. I always think of how Jon describes mindfulness now, that it's about learning to be with what is. Then you decide what to do about that situation, and that might involve doing some positive thinking if you know you're in a pointlessly negative thought spin, or it might involve making a decision, or it might involve doing nothing. But the point is that it's a conscious decision, not a reactive pushing away or grasping towards.
