Catastrophic Thinking Resources?

Hello,

It just hit me that most of my anxiety is centered around catastrophic thoughts. Something triggers a stream of such thoughts wherein I end up in a worst case scenario. Are there any specific resources for this?

Thanks.

The fact that you are noticing your thoughts are catastrophic is a huge step. This post from mindful.org has pretty helpful tips on what to do after you notice you are having a certain kind of thought (they call catastrophic thinking etc a mind trap). Hope it's helpful!

A good grounding in mindfulness might well be the answer for that kind of habitual thinking.
Again, further to my earlier post, it would be useful to get a reminder as to how you are going about this practice.
If you are in the UK, maybe you'd like a chat about it over the phone. That could be arranged and wouldn't cost you anything.
Cheers,
Jon

I'm doing the exercises in the Palouse Mindfulness course. A chat about it would be lovely. I'm in India if it can be worked out. Thank you so much.

Unfortunately, my free calls don't extent to India but, if you PM me, I can let you know my email address and we can correspond that way.
Happy to be of help,
Jon (from his tent, somewhere on a hill)
