Back in January, after the Charlie Hebdo murders and Boko Haram massacres, I instigated a blogging initiative to spread compassion around the world. The initial aim was to get 1000 bloggers to write about compassion on the same day, and to link these together. We did this on 20th February, World Social Justice Day.

Many people wanted to carry on, and so we now do a monthly link up, on the 20th of each month. (To accommodate all time zones, the link-up is open for 48 hours.) We have chosen themes for some months, and this month's is Connection, including Reconciliation.

We have a Facebook group with over 1600 members from all over the world. Although we have a few mindfulness or psychology professionals, most members are ordinary people; some practice mindfulness, some don't, but all care about compassion and several have written about how taking part has changed how they feel about others and about themselves.

It would be wonderful to have members or Everyday Mindfulness take part.
If you are interested, all you need to do is write a blog post related to compassion with particular focus on connection and then link it up. The details of how to do this will be on our blog http://1000voicesspeak.org from Noon GMT today, and the link-up is open until Noon GMT on the 21st.

If by chance anyone has already written a post on the theme of connection this month, you can also link that up. No older posts though please, and a maximum of 3 per blogger.

If anyone wants more details, I'm more than happy to answer questions.

Thank you in advance to anyone who wants to join us spreading compassion!
