8-) Hello from Central Illinois-- I'm not sure what I'm doing here, just found this site. Feeling like I need some assistance in my Spiritual journey. I've read tons of books, seen lots of videos, mostly focusing on Tolle, Chopra, Dyer, some Hicks and Bashar. Just feeling a bit overwhelmed by the number of choices offered by so many teachers. I'm drawn to meditation and the Present Moment Awareness that Tolle speaks of. History of depression and low self-esteem has transformed into an awareness of the inestimable value of all living things, the Oneness of all life. :) But I'm feeling a "lack" within my spiritual practice somehow. It appears that my intellect (Ego-mind) just takes control and I lack the ability to even know how I'm truly [i]feeling[i] at any given time, except of course for the extremes. I feel that I need a discussion group, as there is NO ONE in my life with whom I can discuss anything spiritual as I see it. Hope I'm in the right place. If not, just let me know, k, thx :D

Hi dragonsamm,
Welcome to the forum.
You're more than welcome to stick around here and learn about mindfulness, a secular meditation-based practice.
However, from your post, I suspect that what you're really looking for is a non-duality forum.
The following link provides a list of non-duality discussion groups.
http://nonduality.org/2008/08/10/recomm ... on-forums/
I'd also recommend the books of Ramana Maharshi, Sri Nisargadatta and Robert Wolfe.
You might also like to check out whether there are any non-duality retreats taking place close to where you live.
My best wishes,
Jon

Thank you JonW, I will check out the link you posted. I initially learned about the Nonduality concept from reading Ken Wilber years ago, I will definitely look this up! :)

My pleasure.
Wilber tends to be a little over-complicated for my tastes.
The three teachers I named are very clear, very concise in their message.
I should also mention that there are many fascinating interviews with non-duality writers/teachers on YouTube. If you type "Buddha At The Gas Pump" into the YouTube search engine, a load of possibilities present themselves. Among my favourites are Adyashanti, Mooji, Tony Parsons, Stephan Bodian, Joan Tollifson and Karen Richards.
You might also enjoy Conscious TV, which offers a lot of interviews with non-duality teachers and spiritual teachers. For those, just type "Conscious TV" into YouTube and take your pick.
All best wishes,
Jon
