Hi.
I am a counselling student and chef. I used to get battered around in my head quite a bit by negative thoughts and found that being more present short circuited a lot of my troubles.

Welcome.
Mindfulness certainly helped me with that kind of thing, are you thinking of giving it a go?

I have been studying Acceptance Commitment Therapy and practicing a freeform method of mindfulness using my breath and senses to come back to the moment when I get caught up in pointless thinking. Though it is inspired more by Thich Nhat Hanh's lovely little books than ACT, lol.

Hello and welcome Candour
I'm a counsellor here is sunny South Yorkshire though I came to mindfulness as I recovered from a life threatening brain haemorrhage. It's something that I do bring to my practice just as a part of who I am. I'm seeing more and more written about mindfulness in a therapeutic way, training etc.
Anyway welcome to our community

Wow, that is an intense way to come into mindfulness FeeHutch. Thank you for the warm invitations. FeeHutch, is it alright if I ask you about counselling in your part of the world some time and just geek out in general about counselling?
