Hi everyone,
My name is Jade. I live in Cambridge in England and I have only recently been exploring Mindfulness.
I have suffered with Panic Attacks and Anxiety since 2007 and after trying various different things I was recommended Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World. I am currently on week 3. I'm hoping by joining this forum I will be able to ask questions that arise throughout the 8 week programme and look for extra practices to do in order to continue with mindfulness.
So far I've noticed small changes, I have pushed myself to do some 'fear' things and I had no PMT this month
Here's hoping there will be lots more benefits to come.

Hi Jade,
Welcome to the forum. We are a friendly and supportive bunch.
I had plenty of questions when I first started but nowhere to ask them which is the reason that I started the forum. You'll find plenty of practitioners here with differing levels of experience. I hope we can help you find your way on this incredible journey.

Hello Jade.
Welcome to the forum. Please feel free to ask any questions that arise.
Somewhere on the forum there's a thread devoted to the Mark Williams/Danny Penman 8-week course. You might find some useful info there.
Also, on the main site you might like to check out my recent interview with Danny Penman.
All good things,
Jon

Hi Jade, lovely to meet you
If you look at the online courses board we posted a thread for each week of FPIAFW, that might be of some use to you?

I posted yesterday for the first time and I want to learn as much as I possibly can. Ive already listed a couple of books mentioned. I have the Penman and Williams one which was really helpful. I still use their cd for practice. Can anyone suggest further reading? I love my books.
Thanks all. The site is so helpful. I just discovered it on Friday.

Hi Anita.
I'd highly recommend any of the Jon Kabat-Zinn books, particularly Coming To Our Senses.
Also recommended:
Richard Gilpin's Mindfulness For Black Dogs & Blue Days
Thich Nhat Hanh's Peace Is Every Step
Jonty Heaversedge and Ed Halliwell's The Mindful Manifesto.
If you're interested in exploring "spirituality" in a wider sense, I'd highly recommend any books by Joan Tollifson, Charlotte Joko Beck, Steve Hagen, Ezra Bayda, Pema Chodron (particularly When Things Fall Apart) and Toni Packer.
Also The Happy Buddha's Happiness & How It Happens, Jeff Foster's Falling In Love With Where You Are, Ramana Maharshi's Be As You Are, David Carse's Perfect Brilliant Stillness and Jac O'Keeffe's Born To Be Free.
Happy reading!
All best wishes,
Jon, Hove
