Re: Anyone found a good way of talking about mindfulness?
This is a great topic. I've been wondering the same thing. I have a friend who at the moment is going through a particularly difficult time and is trying to deal with it by keeping never endingly busy so she doesn't have to confront any of the difficult feelings. I wanted to suggest mindfulness but ...

Re: Negative effects of meditation
An interesting question and one I've occasionally pondered on. I have sometimes felt that I have become less sociable as a result of practicing mindfulness - I'm far more content to be on my own and to be quiet and although this can also be seen as a positive in some respects I also miss the more so...

Re: Mindfulness and anger
Hi Rara, Thanks for your thoughtful response. It's funny because I never used to be someone who even felt anger (not encouraged in my family), since I realised that was the case I now feel it more than ever! I was interested in what you wrote about being too attached to our feelings (potentially I'm...

Re: Mindfulness and anger
That's fine Jon, I didn't know what it was - though did some reading about him after you and Bio mentioned the controversies! Completely understand why you want to keep it mindfulness related.
Thanks
Sarah
Thanks

Re: Mindfulness and anger
Osho meditation has got nothing to do with mindfulness meditation. Osho, to my knowledge, is a guru who took sexual advantage of his students. This is a mindfulness forum. Jon Yikes thanks Jon and Bio for the heads up. I'm just interested in mindfulness meditation so perhaps I'll steer clear of Osho!

Re: Mindfulness and anger
Hi everyone, Thank you for your very thoughtful responses. I've really enjoyed my first forum post and hearing everyone's experiences and ideas. Parmistan - thank you for your recent comment. I'm sorry to hear about your abusive father, it sounds as if you have found ways to deal with the anger that...

Re: Resistance and acceptance
Hi Lucy, Sorry to hear you've been having a difficult time. I can identify with what you were saying about the anxiety in the mornings as I had a difficult period last year in which I felt the same. I think for me I realised that I was sometimes using my periods of formal practice with a planned out...

Re: Mindfulness and anger
Hi Everyone, Thanks for your replies and thoughts. Gareth, I very much like the quote that you shared so thank you. I reflected on what you and BioSattva said about the fact that it was still rather 'live' for me. I tried today to mindfully notice my thoughts and feelings on the conversation that I ...

Mindfulness and anger
Hi everyone, I have a question about situations in which I feel angry. I've been practicing mindfulness daily for over a year now and I've done the 8 week MBCT course. A situation arose earlier this evening in which my Mum said something personal and critical which really pushed my buttons. I notice...
