Re: isochronic tones

Ezzo, In not saying that YOU should do this but what works for me is 15 minutes mindfulness meditation every morning - you'll naturally find that you're more aware of your senses during the day so in effect you're doing loads more 'mindfulness' than just your 15 minutes in the morning. Put your fait...

Re: isochronic tones

I agree with you but as you say his issues are quite 'chronic' and he's suffering now, he will definitely benefit from the guidance of someone who knows what their doing. BUT like I said, he's doing things pretty right already, with a few well thought out words (or whatever) from us he can start doi...

Re: isochronic tones

But the fact is that ezzo is already doing exactly what he (or she) needs to, but sounds like he thinks he's doing it all wrong suggests that he may benefit from a few well-placed words to make things 'click' into place in his head - whether that be words in a book, advice on this form or anything e...

Re: isochronic tones

ezzo, I find the courses that i've been on great for meeting other like-minded people but not really to learn anything new - If you're already doing 'focusing on the breath' meditation then that is really all there is to it. What you WILL learn is what you discover about yourself as you become more ...

Re: Video Testimonials

Gareth, I think these video testimonials are a brilliant idea. When you see a stranger the first thing that pops into your head are all kinds of automatic judgements and opinions about them & how perfect their life must be. I think this is a fantastic way of getting across not only 'what mindful...

Re: isochronic tones

ezzo, I suddenly had a thought last night - I recently read one of the Dalai Lama's books (I THINK it was 'Beyond religion: ....' and if i remember right it said in there it said about two broad forms of meditative practice: 1 - Developing awareness/mindfulness by paying attention to what your sense...

Re: isochronic tones

I agree totally with 'piedwagtail91' (I'm assuming you're a bird watcher!), to my mind mindfulness is about not doing things on auto-pilot, instead being aware of what's going on in the moment through your senses & not getting caught up in the stories that your mind's trying to tell you. To me t...

Re: Back To Work

Gareth, Congratulations - best of luck!! After becoming ill I spent years working in a job that was plainly incompatible with the way I'd become but I tried in vain to hang onto it, it gave me a sense of identity & pride but I didn't realise how much it was screwing me up. I can't work now but I...

Re: Changes Made To You By Mindfulness

Larorra, I read something that stuck in my head the other day (it might have been on here or could have been anywhere for that matter - I've been doing alot of reading!) that mindfulness is just doing stuff without doing it on 'autopilot' - ironing sounds like a good idea - at least you won't burn y...

Re: What Would Happen if I Didn't Meditate?

Gareth, I started meditating a few years ago (3 or 4) & within a few weeks I felt a massive difference in how in control i felt - i could suddenly deal with situations that would normally have made me stressed & panicky before, it really put things into perspective. After a few months of med...
