Re: A Nomadic Mindful Journey

Great post, I can identify with what you say. I also find it interesting that I have tried like yourself to have the same goals. The one difference or change I have made is to be both a little looser with the goals e.g to practice meditation 5 out of 7 days per week. And also to be more compassionat...

Re: The Stress Of Success?

I too am relatively inexperienced in the mindfulness journey. But I am not sure that there is anything wrong with people charging and making money from teaching mindfulness as long as its fair. Yes I appreciated thats a judgement and opinion on whats fair. Headspace is around £50 per year, that does...

Re: How or where do I start?

Hi there

I started with the headspace website, if you pay the subscription there is a 365 day programme. A guided meditation every day, put together into a programme.

Worth a look.

Re: Wandering mind

Thanks, I do like the idea of saying in and out I will give that a go this weekend. Catching thoughts in a none judgemental way, I think takes time. Its effectivly unlearing a lifetime of "oh no not those thoughts, why cant i make them stop". So occasionally i still end up doint that, but ...

Re: My journey so far

Cheesus - that sounds very similar to me. I have only recently been diagnosed with OCD, it was a bit of a shock. My family and friends just said we could have told you that......... So I looked back and realized this had been a cycle my whole life, from around 11 to where I am now at 44. There are t...

Hi there..... Out of curiosity, how much does peoples minds wander during meditation ? I have done a couple of sessions in the past week where my mind wandered so much I don't think I ever counted the breaths to 10 once. My take has always been this is normal its what the mind does, the key is when ...

My journey so far

Hi all, I have suffered anxiety issues all my life, but only realised around 6 years ago when I had a major problem to an extent where the past, present and future effectivly merged which was very scarey. I recovered largly with medication, but i have always had a level of background anxiety. I had ...

Re: Try some yoga!

I started yoga as a 6 session course the same time as I started to study mindfulness using headspace. The yoga we do is all based on mindfulness, with poses, breathing and meditation. I have to say I wish I took kit up years ago. I only have a couple of weeks left and then I will have to practice at...

Hello from a new member

Hello, I have just joined. I came to mindfulness around 10 weeks ago. My story is probably similar to others. I am a relatively successful person, I have a good job, a lovely wife and family but at times I suffer from very bad anxiety. It is something I appear to have lived with since I was about 10...
