Re: Question on the effects of mindfulness when combined with psychadelics
When I first started meditating I had loads of questions too, like Arctic Joy, and was always reading up about it. Jon is so right - it is our thinking minds trying to make sense of something thinking will never help us with. Just meditate - see what happens. The experience of meditating has answere...

Re: Trouble with Acceptance of Thoughts
Hi Aly. I'm also a long term (10 years) Headspace user and I have found it very helpful, although I would say that I have done many of the packs (like the Self-Esteem ones) several times as these techniques, although seemingly simple, are not easy to use, and it all takes a lot of everyday practice ...

Re: Mindfulness & Stress Reduction
I think most of us on here who have used Mindfulness for Stress Reduction of Anxiety would say that they have found that Mindfulness without a regular Meditation practice is hard to maintain. It may give you some useful ways to approach anxiety or panic attacks but it is unlikely to make a lasting d...

Re: POLL: Watching thoughts
I think this really clears up the difference between meditation and mindfulness. When I meditate I can (sometimes) just watch my thoughts go past and stay in awareness of my own breathing. In 'real' life, I try and mindfully be aware when I've been distracted by thoughts from what I'm actually doing...

Re: Bad people
Hello, this is Barbara (I look after the Everyday Mindfulness Facebook page), and I want to add to this very interesting thread. I am finding it personally very helpful, particularly Peter's contribution here: "I've noticed that also in personal relationships, my thought process has simplified ...

Re: Dreading Meditation
I posted a link to this discussion on our Facebook page and this comment was added from Breathworks-Mindfulness who have a lot of experience in this area. "Please share this link & watch this film (available free for 7 days) it talks about this resistance to practising, amongst many other m...
