Re: Ignoring past problems?
Hi Linden! I can't speak for others, but here's my take on that. I used to worry a lot about many past problems, and I wondered if I should seek professional help and more aggressively confront these. In fact the thing that got me to start meditation were panic attacks caused by worrying too much ab...

Re: Guided meditation
Hi G! When I started meditation (about 6 months ago) one of my early goals was to get accustomed to it then shed my reliance on guided meditation. It was ok, but I felt I still had much to learn. Then I started hearing about cheap apps with minimal, high quality guidance. I tried one and it was much...

Have you ascended yet?
I know some here practice Buddhism, and I was wondering if anyone has reached nirvana. I know it's rare, but this is a serious question and I'm interested in your experiences.

Optimum stimulus needed for concentration?
Some people count their breaths, others don't. If counting breaths helps us concentrate more, why not play a song in our mind too? How about tapping our foot to the beat? Ok, I'm getting silly, but my question is how do I find the optimum level of stimulus for me? I'm actually trying to improve my a...

Re: Is mindfulness making us ill?
I'm with you guys. Actually, the fact that there isn't more negative stuff written about it surprises me a little. Even the most popular stuff gets quite a bit of flack these days. I guess it's pretty hard to build a reasonable case against.

Re: Noticing: The Bicep Curl for Your Brain
As usual, i like what I'm reading here. Thanks Matt. What you said about mindset and attitude reminds me of something I saw on a Joe Rogan interview. I know, he's just an isolation-tank using mindful pot head, but he has some interesting interviews. One of his guests (Sam Harris maybe?) said the amo...

Noticing: The Bicep Curl for Your Brain

Is mindfulness making us ill?
I just read this article; it's probably the only negative thing I've read about mindfulness. Any comments?
