Hi - great post, so true!
Even the touch of your clothes on your skin is a sensation!
When my mind is busy and I am struggling to be aware of my sensations I like to always return to the breath, slow down and allow my mind to quieten before returning to the scan.
With love!

Re: Fits of Anger
Hi Ibnezubair, I think there is something to be said for how mindfulness will make you more aware of your emotions and therefore you are becoming more aware of your anger when you are in fits of rage. Previously you may have been in the same fit of rage but as you were less conscious/aware of your e...

Re: Mindfullness vs Flow
Is mindfulness the same as flow? I suspect they are not the same but would be interested to read your interpretations of these things. If mindfulness and flow are not the same, which state should we strive to attain? or should we try do achieve both states equally at different times? just asking ou...

Re: Focus on breath or thoughts?
There are so many techniques and different ones will resonate with you. I find that the breath is certainly great technique to start out with - ie if my practice has been a bit out of sorts then I find that the breath as a main focus can help me to develop a solid practice again. But that will diffe...

Re: Non-striving in business
Having goals, ambitions and measures of success is not at all at odds with the core principles of mindfulness. Where we start to become unstuck is how we attach ourselves to these goals, and how we treat ourselves when these goals aren't met. I'm sorry I can't go into greater detail myself. Busy da...

Re: The present moment
Thanks Matt, it just seems to me now that there is more to being present than just breathing. Could it, maybe, be the end result of why you practice formal meditations? If you get to a point where this becomes second nature to you in daily life, do we need to carry on with formal practices. I'm not...

Re: Mindfulness of anxiety and OCD impulses - how?
Hi Jonaaaa, Mindfully speaking, we would simply notice those fears, impulses and thoughts as they arise - then return to the anchor (usually the breath). We're definitely not trying to ward them off or push them down. We are, in a sense, befriending them. Cheers, Jon I completely agree with John he...

Re: Registered on this forum because I really want to learn mindfulness
Hello! It is difficult to detach yourself from your thoughts and not become so engrossed in them. Detaching does not need to seem so cold and inhuman. For me, detachment is to not react to your thoughts. When your thoughts consume you, you act unconsciously. When you can witness your thoughts you a...
