Re: Has you mind become more active after meditating for 2 months?
i have noticed this as well. I think when I was was first doing it, my mind was more focussed because it was trying to learn a new skill so was less likely to wonder off, now i feel that perhaps my mind is becoming a little complacent, as not trying so hard to learn a new skill. mind you since becom...

Re: Acknowledging where my mind has gone to
i generally go for option one and just say thinking, unless I'm worrying, if I'm worrying i say worrying, I'm not entirely sure why i give worrying its own label, but it seems to work

Re: How Important is structure?
thanks for the additional replys, what your doing Gareth sounds like the approach i fell into. I have since gone back to a less wondering approach though as i have found my mind is a bit all over the place at the minute. i like the idea about only have none sentence to remember jon, that sounds much...

Re: Mindfulness v Facebook
i have made similar observations, when looking around you do see more and more people engrossed in there devices. It used to be rude to have your phone out at the table, but these days its almost as if its rude not to upload an image of what your about to eat to Facebook for all to see. My self pers...

Re: Help! Too focused on breath!
i used to struggle a little with breathing, I'm asthmatic so it can be easy for me to not get enough oxygen in. I found that id try and regulate my breath and then either breath too much or not enough. then I discovered the knack to it, just don't do anything with, don't try to breath, and in doing ...

Re: How Important is structure?
thank you for the replies chaps, two very different answers in the first two posts. To respond a little to peters reply, I would say that although the practice is quite free flowing, it doesn't feel like I'm not concentrating, and a lot of the time is taken up focusing on the breath. and i don't fee...

How Important is structure?
Hi, A couple of weeks I got to the end of the 8 week course in FPIAFW. For the most part the course went very well. I certainly feel like I have a better understanding of the subject. Since finishing the 8 week course, I have turned back to the headspace app, and have been working through the headsp...

Re: returning to the breath
i have just finished the finding peace in a frantic world book, and would also strongly recommend it. it will give you a good grounding in the main concepts. one of the main things that i have found in my practice, is that when following your breath, you don't do it it, to achieve any state of mind,...

Re: Observing/watching your thoughts. Practical exemples please!
it is a tricky one, and i have also been struggling with it, I posted about it a little while back as it happens. anyhow over the last couple of days I think i have got to point where i understand what needs to be done. at first i tended to just open up the floodgates and let my mind think about wha...
