Re: Exercise: The mindfulness of breathing (4 stages)
Practiced this today. Did each stage for longer than the first time I tried it, I found it really grounding, especially the stages 1 & 2. I'm unsure how long I was in stage 3, I think it was a good amount of time, some thoughts began to emerge so I observed them, though didn't start a dialogue (...

Re: Focus on breath or thoughts?
Hi, I know what you mean about wondering if you should be progressing to something else after grounding yourself with your breath, I have pondered that too. I have noted that once I have grounded myself either with breath or body scan or sounds (or whatever) I naturally begin to ''see what happens''...

DJLFSC Hope you've been getting good quality sleep, mines been sporadic but mindfulness helps in those instances. Keeps me calm at least.

Re: Trying a new technique to focus
Your post has made me aware of just how much I am mindful (naturally) during the day.

Re: Newbie dealing with thoughts post-meditation
I found it interesting that my meditation practice has been different the last month or so. I have been unwell and have had a great deal of stress in my life. Meditation prior to this difficult time had been easier to remain with the breath (or body part during a scan), during meditation lately I've...

Re: POLL: Watching thoughts
I've realised, from where I'm at right now, that it very much depends on what is going on in my life at the time as to how easy I find it to stay observing rather than attaching to thoughts. Recently I've had quite a bad relapse of my illness and added to that there has been some stressful situation...

Re: What changes have happened for you?
Hi JonW, thanks for that and same to you too ;) Hi DJLSFC, I can relate to what you describe regarding sleep and the thought process. I find that my sleep pattern is improving from what it was and that I can avoid attaching to thoughts much easier than I used to be able to do. The realisation that t...
