Re: Awareness of awareness itself

I understand what you are saying. I noticed yesterday that sometimes I try too hard through mindfulness to be in the moment. And then I realised that I don't always have to use mindfulness to be in the moment, I also have a natural way of living in the moment, get what I am saying?

Re: Targeting a specific anxiety with mindfulness -please he

Thanks Melli, very helpfull. I do 'suffer' from anxiety attacks now and then and though it is getting better, I still need to update my knowledge now and then to be able to deal with it when it occurs. I am often on the verge of 'getting totally panicked' and 'accepting the anxiety and moving on'. I...

Re: How many of you live in the moment?

For me, it is much easier to be mindfull when I am with others then when I am alone. When I am with others, I truly listen to them and I hear them. My mind doesn't wonder of thinking about the dishes and stuff. But when I do the dishes, I think about the laundry and that I have to pay a bill... So f...

Re: About to commence an 8 week course

My husband is very lucky and fortunate, and therefor I because I live with him, that his nature is very calm, stable and Zen.
He learns a lot through me and we listen to a youtube meditation every night in bed and it calms him even more.
He helps me a lot in my search and therefor it helps him too.

Re: Is the goal to be mindful every waking moment?

It does take time. I practice formal mediation on a daily basis for months now, and there are days when my first informal notion of awareness comes late in the afternoon.
And then I think, with kindness, geez, why didn't I think of this sooner.

Re: About to commence an 8 week course

My husband pleads with me to never stop with mindfulness. He thinks I'm a changed person, much calmer and more Zen within myself.
I doubt my family and friends notice, I don't mention it but I see a difference in my behavior with them.

Re: Mindfullness, Sad Feeling, Stress & Anxiety

"It may be a paradox but, if we cope with our unpleasant feelings by pushing them away or trying to control them, we actually end up maintaining them. This is the last thing we would expect; yet it remains true. In avoiding or "pushing away" our experience, we remain limited in under...

Re: Mindfullness, Sad Feeling, Stress & Anxiety

In my case, it was a wise decision. I felt an emotion and I felt that it was ok to feel this way. So I wanted to take the time to feel it. And remember, it's only a 3 minute meditation so afterwards, I felt more at ease and calm.
