Re: chronic anxiety

Hi yardenmodal, You seem to just dismiss my entire advice. You present a new specific situation, and ask for a solution. It doesn't work that way. Your mindset and perspective needs to change, if you want to feel and react differently. This isn't something you can change over night, it is a process....

Re: chronic anxiety

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for sharing your story. Don't despair. The best treatment for anxiety is exposure therapy. It really is! Mindfulness can help you with that, because it lets you see things more as they really are, and not how you think or feel they are. In your particular case, I rec...

Re: Mindfulness and trouble falling asleep

Hi ZenEx,

Sleep problems are very troublesome. Did you have sleep troubles before you started with mindfulness, or only since then?

Re: Flat mood

What Jon said, and regarding losing one's spontaneity because of Mindfulness: In my experience, the opposite is much more likely. I, for example, have become a lot more spontaneous.I give a lot less power to thoughts about what might go wrong. And there are also a lot less of those thoughts too. I l...

Re: Odd question....

Great elaborate advise from Jon! I totally agree with him. I hope I'm not embarrassing him if I say I find it truly amazing how much time and effort Jon is willing to give to the community for years now. Very concretely: For me the thing that stands out the most is a perception shift. In stead of li...

Re: In a frenzy

I agree with, Jon.

Wanting a certain outcome (eg ecstatic state) means you're fighting or resisting what is. You'd better surrender to what is in awareness. We've a lot less control than we like to think. This is a very important lesson.

Re: Fun & Creative Way to Practice Mindfulness?

I agree with the others. I think concentration has its value, also in mindfulness, but mainly in the form of concentrating on 'what is' (senses, thoughts etc), rather than the task itself. The first promotes awareness, but the latter frustrates awareness.
