Re: Affirmations and Striving?
Thank you all for your helpfull replies, and yes i have come to the conclusion, stick to mindfulness and keep it simple. I have only been doing the practice for a couple of months, but within weeks, i couldn't believe how the ruminations stopped and my mind was so calm and uncluttered, it is enough ...

Re: Affirmations and Striving?
Thanks for reply Skywalker, i just thought, with Mindfulness you are not meant to get anwhere or acheive anything by it, just be and accept, so maybe some affirmations are a bit like wanting things you don't have, but i have also read that affrimations don't necessarily work if used too often, the m...

Quick Thinking?
Hi all, i should be on chapter 10 'Trapped in the Past' but i have had some difficulty, ironically with chapter 9 'turning towards difficulties' . my first concern is, as soon as i start to meditate, all those thoughts that are supposed to be floating around ready to be 'looked at', disappear, and s...

Re: Feeling subdued
Thank you Jon, yes i think initailley i was blocking the thoughts, but now i am at the stage of observing the feelings they generate and just allowing them to be what they are till they calmly subside. I have a long way to go with this, but it has been a great help to me so far, even at this early s...

Re: Feeling subdued
Thank you for your reply Kathleen, and yes your right, the brain fuzz has been turned down, and maybe i'm mistaking the calm for numbness, and i could be practicing a bit too hard maybe lol, but i shall continue and see what happens in the next 4 lessons.

Feeling subdued
Hi all, this is my first posting, forgive me if this is a FAQ. I am currently on week 4 of the 8 week 'Finding peace in a frantic world' course, and coming from a state of bad incident/depression i am finding it both easy ( which is worrying lol) and very helpfull indeed, mainly in that it has stopp...
