Why I Can't Meditate

I've been struggling to meditate and found myself making excuses left and right about why I can't do it. So I decided to call myself out on it and wrote a somewhat short post about it on my blog: http://blog.kevinlamping.com/why-i-cant-meditate/

Would love your thoughts on it!

Re: Mindfulness App Feedback

Gareth, I think you're spot on with that. Somewhere in my mind I thought that as long as I make this app, I'd start meditating regularly. It worked for a couple days, but then I got lazy. I keep making excuses that I don't have five minutes to "waste", even though, like you said, it makes ...

Re: Mindfulness App Feedback

Barbs, Thanks for trying it out and sharing! The ability to use it anywhere was definitely my goal with the app. There are already great apps out there for focused mindfulness/meditation; I just wanted something you can fit in to times when you don't have solitude. As always, suggestions and critici...

Re: Mindfulness App Feedback

Hey Jon, I may not have explained myself correctly when saying that I've only known about it for a year. I've actually been practicing it on and off for that time, but haven't been consistent due to having little kids running around. That's actually where the idea to write the app came from. I wante...

Re: Mindfulness App Feedback

Can definitely link back here.

Thank you tremendously for the review and sharing the app. While I'm wanting to promote the app so I can invest more time in to building it, I don't want to do it with spammy marketing tricks, so reviews/ratings/testimonials/word-of-mouth is incredibly valuable. :D

Re: Mindfulness App Feedback

Glad it's working for you! Love that you were able to "meditate" with craziness all around. That's exactly the scenario I was going for. :) Would you mind if I attribute this quote to you for promo material (e.g. app store description, twitter, facebook fan page)? "I tried the 1 minut...

Re: Mindfulness App Feedback

Thanks! Yeah, that's one of the unique things about mindfulness I think. While it helps to have the solitude/quiet, it's not necessary. I'd love any feedback you have, especially re: the prompts. I'm not entirely sure about the 'feel your heartbeat' one; often times I can't feel my heart beating eve...

Mindfulness App Feedback

I'm a parent of two young kids and have trouble fitting in meditation due to long hectic days. I had the idea to build an app/website where you go through mindfulness exercises that don't require a quiet room or being alone (something you don't get much of with kids around). I'm looking for feedback...
