Re: Confused about dealing with thoughts/feelings
Welcome, tessari! I think the key is to observe them, but without judging them as good or bad. When you don't judge them as bad, they're probably go away the same way they came to your mind. Besides, if you feel you're getting caught up in them, you'll always have your breath, of anything you're tak...

Re: How to be mindful while washing the dishes?
I completely agree with piedwagtail91. Breath is just an "anchor", something to be aware of, something to focus on. We usually is it as an anchor because it's always there (it would be bad new if it weren't there ;) ), but you can be aware of whatever you decide. I pay attention to the bre...

Re: What to do with difficult thoughts in daily life?
Hi monkey, I see meditation as a practice to learn non-reactivity, and then apply it to the rest of the things we do in our lives. Try not to make a difference between how you deal with "bad" feelings or thoughts while you're meditating and while you're not practicing formal meditation. I ...

Re: Mindfulness and illness
I agree. Sometimes I don't feel like practicing meditation either, but after doing it, I realise it's on those days when I need it the most. Practicing will surely help you, whether you're ill or not. Maybe you're not physically able to meditate the same way you usually do, but I'm sure you'll figur...

Re: Mindul Exercise
I guess the point is being able to be mindful all the time, whatever we're doing. I would make a difference between 'being mindful' and 'practicing mindfulness' though. I sit with my eyes closed for my 'formal' practice, where I learn how to be mindful, and then I try to take that state of awareness...

Re: How do you practice?
Hi monkey! That's pretty much what I do. I tried to do it while walking, running... but now I just sit and focus on my breath first. Breath is kind of an anchor, it's always there (thankfully) and you always can focus on it. Once I get that particular state of mind, I try to be aware of what's going...

Re: Do we grow with each moment of clearity?
So true. Mindfulness changed my life when I decided not to achieve anything. If you practice and try to be present, results will come. Keeping some idea of "enlightenment" in mind while you practice mindfulness and not reaching that point, might lead you to disappointment, and that's not t...
