Re: Trouble with Acceptance of Thoughts
Jon, thanks. Does that really allow us to not identify with our thoughts? Right now, coming back to the present doesn’t really allow me to decrease that identification with thoughts. But I googled something about intrusive thoughts, it said they’re automatic and nothing I can do about them. Which ma...

Re: Trouble with Acceptance of Thoughts
Hi Jon - I have used Headspace for a few years. 328 hours of meditation. I also have trouble with not identifying with thoughts. For example, if I say I don’t like making my bed, I’m trying not to identify with that. Or I don’t want to write the book that I’ve been working on. I hate that I have tho...

Re: Trouble with Acceptance of Thoughts
Also I never find that being aware that a thought is a thought helps it lose its control over me. But this is what they say.

Trouble with Acceptance of Thoughts
I've meditated consistently for years. However, I'm still very bothered by intrusive thoughts. My seated practice of meditation hasn't helped me at all with this. In fact, things that I know are important in my life, almost everything, my mind tells me "I don't like this" or "This is ...

Re: Dealing with Mindfulness and Boredom at work
Hi Aly, What kind of tasks are they? What if you change your focus in the mindfulness practice and focus deeply on your work, instead of your senses? HI there, often, very boring repetitive tasks. Where everything is the same in putting together a letter except for the date may change as well as a ...

Dealing with Mindfulness and Boredom at work
Hello! I regularly have tasks at work that just aren't interesting, and frankly there's no way to make them interesting.
In the attempt to practice mindfulness and focus on the senses, I can't then focus on the actual work!
Any thoughts?

Applying mindfulness to boring activities at work
Hi there! The answer should be obvious but I don't know it.. How should I apply mindfulness to a boring activity at work? Just acknowledge that an activity is boring, and return to it? But don't I need to return to a physical sensation? And how am I supposed to focus on the activity if I'm now focus...

Help! Too focused on breath!
Hi there, so I've become too focused on the breath. To the point where when I'm trying to be present with something else (like a conversation) all I can do is focus on the breath. I can feel the breath so much that it overwhelms everything else. I'm so frustrated. Please help!
