Hi Pajko You might want to look at dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). It has mindfulness at it's core, but also deals with regulating your emotions, tolerating distress and helps relate to other people. Just Google DBT and see if you think it might apply to you. "I can't do it and it doesn't work." It seems to me you are very aware of your emotions. That IS mindfulness. Mindfulness isn't always pleasurable, but it always gives you insight. You are recognising how you are feeling which is the first step in being able to affect change. That will come.

There's much more to mindfulness practise than breath. Why not observe your thoughts? Or sounds? Or feelings? Or sensations? If you're getting frustrated then that's worth looking at too. What does that feel like? Where is it felt?

I agree with Gareth. I treat the need to itch as part of the meditation and as Jon KZ would say "turn towards it". Sensations, thoughts, feelings. Also at what point do you decide to "scratch"? Is it a conscious choice or an automatic response?
